A COMMISSIONED ARTWORK FOR 100 YEARS IFA BERLIN
"A dancing vortex that draws you ever deeper within. It manifests in myriad shapes and colors, guided by a bizarre, unpredictable algorithm. Vibrant masks are put on, and one is swept away in the maelstrom of modern technology. Time and reality disintegrate, revealing endless new wonders to explore."
This commissioned artwork was created by Magdalena Wiegner aka Magwie for the ifa (Internationale Funkausstellung 2024). The project was developed within a predefined curatorial topic and a physical framework consisting of two 150 × 150 cm panels that form a three-dimensional installation space.
In this installation, the artist combines sculptural objects and anamorphic painting in vibrant colours and tactile, organic shapes. The work explores immersive visual perception and optical distortion.
Through this combination of installation art, sculpture, and anamorphic painting, the work constructs a visually engaging vortex that draws viewers into an increasingly intense perceptual field. The piece investigates attraction, immersion, and the psychological pull of colour, form, and visual depth.
